The women’s soccer World Cup took place in France in 2019, and ahead of the landmark contest Nike unveiled 14 national kits, that for the first time ever, were specifically designed for the female teams. In an emotional and empowering runway presentation 50 casted women strode along famous female athletes, soccer players and kids. Shelley Durkan’s and Toni’s casting included divers women in terms of ethnic background, religion, age and size. Of the 150+ women total some were scouted on the streets of Paris or via social media, some through agencies.
